Joshua Okamoto is a Japanese-born Mexican actor known for his dynamic performances in film and television. Born on July 17, 1995, in Saitama, Japan, to a Japanese father and Mexican mother, he moved to Guadalajara, Mexico, with his family at the age of three. His mother, Elizabeth Brambila, a renowned theater actress, introduced him to the world of acting, often bringing him along to her rehearsals. This early exposure sparked his passion for the performing arts. Okamoto pursued formal training in acting at CasAzul Artes Escénicas Argos in Tlalnepantla de Baz, Estado de México. He began his career in theater and made his on-screen debut in 2018 with a role in the Netflix series Narcos: Mexico. He continued to build his filmography with appearances in El Club de los Insomnes (2018), Con olor a Guanajuato (2019), and the Netflix series The Club (2019). In 2021, he starred in the film Muerte al verano, a drama directed by Sebastián Padilla. He also appeared in the Netflix series Control Z (2022) as Gibrán and in the film Sexo, Pudor y Lágrimas 2 (2022) as Fichas . In 2023, Okamoto made his Hollywood debut in the horror film Saw X, the tenth installment of the Saw franchise. He portrayed Diego, a character who is part of a group of scammers deceiving cancer patients under the guise of providing treatment. His character plays a pivotal role in the film's plot, interacting directly with John Kramer (Jigsaw), portrayed by Tobin Bell .
