Julia Davis

Julia Davis, born in August 1966, is an acclaimed English actress, comedian, writer, and director, celebrated for her dark and often unsettling comedic style. Her career is marked by multiple BAFTA TV Awards for her work on shows she both wrote and starred in, including the BBC's Human Remains (2000) and Nighty Night (2004–2005). She has also created and directed other notable comedies like Hunderby (2012–2015) and Sally4Ever (2018), the latter of which won a BAFTA for Best Scripted Comedy. In addition to her writing and directing, Davis is known for her acting roles as Dawn Sutcliffe in Gavin & Stacey, and in films like Love Actually (2003), Four Lions, and Phantom Thread. She most recently appeared in the 2023 film The Toxic Avenger as Kissy Sturnevan. She is married to comedian and actor Julian Barratt, and they have two children.
