Julio Chavezmontes
Julio Chavezmontes is a highly acclaimed Mexican film producer and screenwriter, born in 1983. He is recognized for his significant contributions to both Mexican and international cinema. Chavezmontes graduated with honors from the University of Chicago in 2005 and holds an M.F.A. from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.In 2011, he co-founded PIANO with Sebastián Hofmann, a prominent art film production house in Mexico and Latin America, dedicated to original and challenging projects. His career began by co-writing and producing "Halley" (2012), directed by Sebastian Hofmann. This debut film garnered international attention, premiering at the Sundance Film Festival and receiving multiple awards at various film festivals worldwide.Chavezmontes has produced or co-produced over 20 films that have been showcased at leading film festivals globally, including Sundance, Berlin, Cannes, Venice, and Toronto. His notable productions include "Echo of the Mountain" (2014), "We Are the Flesh" (2016), "Time Share" (2018), "Siberia" (2020), "Annette" (2021), "Memoria" (2021), and "Bergman Island" (2021). "Time Share," which he co-wrote and produced, earned him the Best Screenplay award at the Sundance Film Festival in 2018 and a nomination for the AMACC Ariel Award. He has been nominated twice for the AMACC Ariel Award. His productions have also received prestigious accolades, such as the Best Director Award for "Annette" and the Jury Prize for "Memoria" at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival.
