Justin Hartley is an American actor, television producer, and director, born on January 29, 1977, in Knoxville, Illinois. He was raised in the Chicago suburb of Orland Park. Hartley pursued his education at Southern Illinois University Carbondale and the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he majored in history and theater, respectively. His acting career began in daytime soap operas, notably as Fox Crane on NBC's "Passions" from 2002 to 2006, and later as Adam Newman on CBS's "The Young and the Restless" (2014–2016), which earned him a Daytime Emmy nomination.Hartley gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Oliver Queen/Green Arrow on The CW's "Smallville" (2006–2011), where he became a main cast member and even directed and wrote an episode. However, he is perhaps best known for his role as Kevin Pearson in the critically acclaimed NBC drama series "This Is Us" (2016–2022), which garnered him significant praise and multiple awards. Beyond television, Hartley has appeared in various films, including "A Bad Moms Christmas" (2017), "Jexi" (2019), "The Hunt" (2020), "Senior Year" (2022), and "The Noel Diary" (2022). He also voiced Superman/Clark Kent in the animated film "Injustice" (2021). Most recently, he can be seen in the main role of Colter Shaw in the CBS series "Tracker" (2024-present), and is slated to appear in the upcoming 2025 film "Bride Hard."
