Justin Long

Justin Jacob Long is an American actor, producer, and writer, known for his versatile roles primarily in comedy and horror films. Born on June 2, 1978, in Fairfield, Connecticut, he is the second of three sons born to a philosophy professor and a former stage actress. Long attended Fairfield College Preparatory School and graduated from Vassar College, where he was a member of the sketch comedy group Laughingstock. His film career began with a role as a comic book fan in the sci-fi comedy Galaxy Quest (1999), and he gained early recognition for his starring role in the horror film Jeepers Creepers (2001) and as socially awkward Warren Cheswick in the TV series Ed (2000–2004). Long became widely known in the mid-2000s for starring in comedies like Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story (2004) and Accepted (2006), as well as playing the Mac computer personification in the popular "Get a Mac" Apple ad campaign. He has since appeared in major films such as Live Free or Die Hard (2007), Sam Raimi's horror classic Drag Me to Hell (2009), and more recently, the critically acclaimed horror film Barbarian (2022). Additionally, he is the voice of Alvin in the Alvin and the Chipmunks film franchise. Long has also taken on creative roles, serving as a writer and producer for films like A Case of You (2013). He is married to actress Kate Bosworth, and they welcomed their first child, a daughter, in 2025.
