Kacey Mottet Klein

Kacey Mottet Klein is a highly acclaimed Swiss actor who was born on October 20, 1998, in Lausanne, Switzerland, to an American father and a Swiss mother. His career began remarkably early when he was discovered at the age of seven and made his screen debut at ten in Ursula Meier’s film Home (2008), which earned him the Swiss Film Award for Best Emerging Actor. He continued to gain international recognition by playing the young Serge Gainsbourg in Gainsbourg: A Heroic Life (2010), but his breakout role came with Meier's 2012 film Sister, for which he won the Swiss Film Award for Best Actor and received his first César Award nomination for Most Promising Actor. He secured a second César nomination in the same category for his leading performance in André Téchiné’s critically praised film Being 17 (2016). Recognized as one of Europe's most promising talents, he was named a Shooting Star at the 2016 Berlin International Film Festival, and his later notable works include the Venice Golden Lion-winning film Happening (2021) and The Vourdalak (2023).
