Kajal Aggarwal (née Kitchlu; born 19 June 1985) is a prominent Indian actress known for her work in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi cinema. Born and raised in Mumbai to a Punjabi family, she pursued a degree in mass media with a specialization in marketing and advertising from Kishinchand Chellaram College. She made her acting debut with a minor role in the 2004 Hindi film Kyun! Ho Gaya Na... and later transitioned to Telugu cinema with Lakshmi Kalyanam (2007), gaining wider recognition with Chandamama the same year. Her breakthrough came with the 2009 fantasy film Magadheera, one of the highest-grossing Telugu films of all time, which earned her critical acclaim. Aggarwal is considered one of the highest-paid actresses in South Indian cinema, with several accolades to her name, including three SIIMA Awards and four Filmfare Awards South nominations. In her personal life, Kajal married entrepreneur Gautam Kitchlu on 30 October 2020 in a private ceremony in Mumbai. The couple welcomed their first child, a son named Neil, on 19 April 2022.
