Kana Hanazawa, born on February 25, 1989, is a Japanese actress and singer. She is a prolific voice performer in anime, with a career that began in 2003. Some of her early roles include Holly in Last Exile and Ryoko Kaminagi in Zegapain. Her voice acting career took off, and she has since voiced many notable characters, such as Nadeko Sengoku from the Monogatari series, Anri Sonohara from Durarara!!, and Angel/Kanade Tachibana from Angel Beats!. In addition to her voice acting, she has also had a music career, releasing her first major single "Hoshizora☆Destination" in 2012. Throughout her career, she has received several accolades, including the Seiyu Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2015 and the Newtype Anime Awards for Best Voice Actress in 2015, 2017, and 2018.
