Kane Kosugi

Kane Kosugi is an American actor, martial artist, and television personality, born on October 11, 1974, in Los Angeles, California. He is the son of renowned martial arts film star Sho Kosugi and Shook Kosugi, who is of Chinese descent. Fluent in English, Japanese, and Mandarin, Kane moved to Japan at the age of 18 to pursue a career in entertainment. He began his martial arts training at just 18 months old, studying disciplines such as wushu, ninjutsu, taekwondo, karate, judo, and kendo . Kane's acting career began in 1983 with a role in Revenge of the Ninja, where he portrayed his father's son. He gained significant recognition in Japan for his role as Jiraiya (Ninja Black) in the 1994 television series Ninja Sentai Kakuranger, becoming the second American-born Sentai ranger . He has since appeared in over 30 films and television series, including Godzilla: Final Wars (2004), DOA: Dead or Alive (2006), Tekken 2: Kazuya's Revenge (2014), and Ninja: Shadow of a Tear (2013) . In addition to his acting career, Kane has competed in the Japanese obstacle course competition SASUKE (known internationally as Ninja Warrior), participating in seven seasons and clearing the First Stage in six of them, a record he shares with other competitors . He has also performed motion capture for the character Onikage in the video game Tenchu: Stealth Assassins (1998) . Kane married a woman from Hong Kong in 2009, and they have a daughter, born on March 4, 2019 .
