Karina DePiano

Karina DePiano is a classically trained, Los Angeles-based professional musician, known for her specializations in keyboard playing, music direction, and production. She is a graduate of the University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music, where she studied Popular Music and was mentored by legendary musician Patrice Rushen. DePiano's diverse career includes touring and performing with a host of major pop artists such as Troye Sivan (for whom she also served as music director), Miley Cyrus, Fifth Harmony, Rita Ora, Daya, Ke$ha, and Alessia Cara. She has showcased her talents on numerous television programs, including Saturday Night Live, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. In 2023, she became widely recognized globally when she joined Taylor Swift's band as the keyboardist and pianist for The Eras Tour. During the initial run of the tour, DePiano was a fan favorite for her dedicated, nightly piano solo intro to the song "Tolerate It," a moment personally highlighted by Taylor Swift on stage and featured in the Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour film. Her association with Swift pre-dates the tour, as she appeared in the 2021 music video for "I Bet You Think About Me." A proud mixed-race woman of half-Filipino and half-Italian descent, DePiano grew up in San Diego and brings a high level of technical precision and stage energy to every performance.
