Born Kartik Tiwari on November 22, 1990, in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, Kartik Aaryan is an Indian actor who has risen from an outsider with a viral monologue to one of the most bankable superstars in contemporary Hindi cinema. After moving to Mumbai to pursue a biotechnology degree, he spent years secretly auditioning while sharing a small apartment with twelve other aspiring actors, finally landing his debut in the 2011 cult hit Pyaar Ka Punchnama. His breakthrough into the "100-crore club" came with Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018), which established him as a leading man for the youth and was followed by a string of commercial successes like Luka Chuppi (2019) and Pati Patni Aur Woh (2019). The year 2024 and 2025 solidified his status as a critical and commercial heavy hitter; he delivered a career-best physical transformation for the biopic Chandu Champion, for which he won his first Filmfare Award for Best Actor, and dominated the box office with the horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 (2024), which grossed over ₹400 crore worldwide.
