Katy Brand, born Katherine Frances Brand on January 13, 1979, in Buckinghamshire, England, is a versatile English actress, comedian, and writer. She gained significant recognition for her ITV2 sketch show, Katy Brand's Big Ass Show, which ran for three series and earned her a British Comedy Award for Best Female Newcomer in 2008.Brand is also a prolific writer, notably penning the screenplay for the critically acclaimed 2022 film Good Luck to You, Leo Grande, starring Emma Thompson. Her other writing credits include numerous television and radio shows, and she has authored several books, including Brenda Monk is Funny, I Carried a Watermelon: Dirty Dancing and Me, and Practically Perfect: Life Lessons from Mary Poppins.Beyond writing, Brand has appeared in various films and television series, such as Nanny McPhee Returns, Psychobitches, Midsomer Murders, and Peep Show. She has also had a successful career in stand-up comedy, with her solo show "I Was A Teenage Christian" touring the UK after a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe.
