Ke Huy Quan

Ke Huy Quan is a Vietnamese-American actor and filmmaker, celebrated for his roles in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984) and The Goonies (1985). Born on August 20, 1971, in Saigon (now Ho Chi Minh City), Vietnam, he immigrated to the United States in 1978 as a refugee. At age 13, he was cast as Short Round in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, marking his acting debut. He followed this with the role of Data in The Goonies. Despite early success, Quan faced limited opportunities for Asian actors in Hollywood during the 1990s. This led him to transition behind the camera, working as a stunt coordinator and assistant director on films like X-Men (2000) and The One (2001). In 2022, he made a triumphant return to acting with Everything Everywhere All at Once, earning the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor—the first Vietnam-born actor to win in this category. Quan is also known for The Electric State 2025, Love Hurts 2025, Zootopia 2 (2025).
