Keira Christina Knightley is an accomplished English actress, born on March 26, 1985, in Teddington, London, to actor Will Knightley and playwright Sharman Macdonald. Showing an early interest in acting, she secured an agent at age six and began her career in commercials and television films. Knightley first gained significant attention for her role as Sabé, Padmé Amidala's decoy, in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace (1999).Her breakthrough came with the critically acclaimed football film Bend It Like Beckham (2002), followed by a role in the ensemble romantic comedy Love Actually (2003). She achieved global stardom with her portrayal of Elizabeth Swann in the highly successful Pirates of the Caribbean film series (2003-2017).Knightley is particularly celebrated for her work in period dramas. Her performance as Elizabeth Bennet in Joe Wright's 2005 adaptation of Pride & Prejudice earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress.
