Kelsi Umeko
Kelsi Umeko is a Japanese American actress, writer, producer, and voice talent based in Seattle, Washington. She began her career in entertainment at a young age, initially pursuing modeling and local commercials before focusing on gymnastics. After a hiatus during which she earned a degree in dental hygiene and worked in the field for five years, Kelsi returned to acting full-time. She trained under top acting coaches in Los Angeles and has since built a diverse career in film, television, and voice work. Kelsi is best known for her role as Maple in Pokémon’s series Beyond the Pokedex. She also starred in the feature film The Sacren (2019), which she co-wrote, produced, and acted in with her husband, Curtis McGann. Additionally, she appeared in the horror film The Look-See (2017) produced by Crypt TV, and had a role in the music video for Shawn Mendes’s “Lost In Japan Tonight,” portraying multiple characters. Her television credits include appearances on The Librarians (TNT), Three Busy Debras (HBO/Adult Swim), and a series regular role on REI’s comedy-improv web series Trailheads. Kelsi has also voiced characters in various projects and has appeared in numerous commercials and print modeling assignments. She co-founded the production company KC Films with her husband, and their son, Kiyo, has also been featured in commercials and TV shows. Kelsi enjoys working with her family on set and has traveled across the U.S. for various projects.
