Kelzy Ecard is a highly acclaimed Brazilian actress, known for her long and distinguished career in theater before gaining widespread national recognition in television later in life. Born on August 22, 1965, in Santo Antônio de Pádua, Rio de Janeiro, she initially pursued and graduated in Architecture and Urbanism before shifting her focus to the arts, graduating from the Martins Penna School of Theater in 1993. Ecard spent over two decades as a renowned theatrical actress, earning numerous prestigious accolades, including a Prêmio Shell for Best Actress for the play Breu (2012) and multiple Prêmio APTR and Prêmio Cenym awards. She made sporadic small appearances on TV over the years, but her breakout role to the mass audience came in 2018 with the telenovela Segundo Sol, where her powerful portrayal of the abused but resilient character Nice earned her critical acclaim and nominations for major TV awards, including Melhores do Ano. Following this success, she cemented her presence in television with roles like Dona Genu in the remake of Éramos Seis (2019) and Dequinha in the Globoplay original series Todas as Flores (2022).
