Kim Eui-sung is a highly recognizable and acclaimed South Korean actor, born on December 17, 1965, in Seoul. A first-generation film actor, he began his career on stage in the 1980s and 1990s. He graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in Business Administration, but his passion for acting led him to join the drama club in college, setting the stage for his future career.After making his screen debut in 1988, he gained attention for his work in independent films, particularly Hong Sang-soo's 1996 directorial debut, "The Day a Pig Fell into the Well." Kim Eui-sung took a hiatus from acting for over a decade, during which he worked as a producer and CEO for media companies in Vietnam, before returning to acting in 2011. Since then, he has become one of South Korea's most prolific and versatile character actors, known for his ability to portray a wide range of roles, from benevolent figures to complex antagonists.He is widely celebrated for his memorable performances in blockbusters such as the selfish and detestable COO, Yong-suk, in "Train to Busan" (2016), which earned him Best Supporting Actor awards at the 25th Buil Film Awards and the 53rd Baeksang Arts Awards. His other notable roles include the dual role of the webtoon artist and his creation in the hit fantasy romance drama "W" (2016), and the CEO in the popular series "Taxi Driver" (2021-present).
