Kim Sung-cheol (born December 31, 1991, in Seoul, South Korea) is a highly acclaimed South Korean actor known for his versatile performances across musicals, film, and television. He initially established himself in the musical theater scene, making his debut in Puberty in 2014 and earning the Best Rookie Actor award at the Korea Musical Awards in 2016 for his role in Sweeney Todd.He gained widespread recognition on screen with his debut television role as Kim Young-cheol (a.k.a. 'Jailbird') in the hit drama Prison Playbook (2017). Since then, he has consistently taken on diverse and memorable roles. His notable film credits include The Battle of Jangsari (2019), Kim Ji-young, Born 1982 (2019), and his critically praised performance as Crown Prince Sohyeon in The Night Owl (2022), which garnered him a Best Supporting Actor nomination at the 59th Baeksang Arts Awards and a Best New Actor award at the 2023 Chunsa Film Art Awards.
