King Shih-Chieh is an highly respected Taiwanese actor, director, and playwright Chin Shih-chieh (Chinese: 金士傑; Jīn Shìjié).Born on December 29, 1951, in Pingtung County, Taiwan, Chin Shih-chieh is considered a towering figure in the development of modern Taiwanese theater, having dedicated decades to stage direction and acting. He is a core creative force behind several influential theater groups, including the Performance Workshop and the Lanling Theatre. His profound contributions to the performing arts were recognized with the prestigious National Award for Arts in 2009.Beyond the stage, he has an extensive filmography in cinema and television, often playing intense or wise supporting roles. His most famous film roles include playing the cunning eunuch Wei Zhongxian in the martial arts film Brotherhood of Blades (2014) and its sequel, as well as appearances in critically acclaimed films such as A City of Sadness (1989), A Brighter Summer Day (1991), The Grandmaster (2013), and The Final Master (2015).
