Kristen Connolly is an American actress born on July 12, 1980, in Montclair, New Jersey. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Middlebury College and further honed her acting skills at the Yale School of Drama . Connolly began her career with minor roles in films such as Mona Lisa Smile (2003), The Happening (2008), and Revolutionary Road (2008), and appeared in recurring roles on the soap operas Guiding Light and As the World Turns. She gained widespread recognition for her role as Dana Polk in the 2012 horror film The Cabin in the Woods, directed by Drew Goddard and co-written by Joss Whedon . Connolly further showcased her talent in television, portraying Christina Gallagher in Netflix's House of Cards (2013–2014), Lena Lawrence in ABC's The Whispers (2015), and Jamie Campbell in CBS's Zoo (2015–2017) .
