Kyrre Haugen Sydness is a Norwegian actor born on December 15, 1972, in Bergen, Norway. He received his acting education at the Norwegian National Academy of Theatre (Statens teaterhøgskole) from 1995 to 1998. Sydness has had a notable career across various mediums, including theatre, film, and television, with affiliations to prominent Norwegian stages such as Rogaland Teater, Den Nationale Scene, and the Nationaltheatret. A significant role he is widely known for is portraying the iconic children's character, Captain Sabertooth (Kaptein Sabeltann), a role he has played in various stage performances at Kristiansand Dyrepark since 2011, the 2011-2012 TV series Kaptein Sabeltann - Kongen på havet, and the films Captain Sabertooth and the Treasure of Lama Rama (2014) and the upcoming 2025 animated feature. His filmography also includes the war film Max Manus (2008), the thriller Headhunters (2011), and the main role as police detective Viggo Lust in the drama series Det tredje øyet (The Third Eye) across two seasons (2014, 2016). Additionally, he appeared as major investor Thomas Aune in the first and second seasons of the popular TV series Lilyhammer (2012–2013).
