Laura Harrier
Born in Chicago on March 28, 1990, Laura Ruth Harrier is an American actress and model who rose to prominence through a series of high-profile roles in film and television. Raised in Evanston, Illinois, by parents Temujin and Linda Harrier, she initially pursued a career in fashion after being discovered by a location scout at age 17. Following high school graduation in 2008, she moved to New York City to study art history at New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study but deferred her enrollment to model professionally with agencies such as IMG Models and Wilhelmina. During this time, she appeared in campaigns for brands like Urban Outfitters, Macy’s, and L’Oréal, and became a frequent presence in magazines such as Vogue and Elle. Harrier transitioned into acting after finding modeling creatively unfulfilling, eventually enrolling in a two-year program at the William Esper Studio, from which she graduated in 2015. Her first major acting break came in 2013 when she was cast as Destiny Evans in the reboot of the soap opera One Life to Live. She achieved international stardom in 2017 playing Liz Allan in Spider-Man: Homecoming and received critical acclaim for her portrayal of civil rights activist Patrice Dumas in Spike Lee’s BlacKkKlansman (2018), a role that earned her a Black Reel Award nomination. Her career has since expanded into diverse projects, including the Netflix miniseries Hollywood (2020), the Hulu series Mike (2022), and the film White Men Can't Jump (2023). Beyond acting, Harrier is a luxury brand ambassador for Louis Vuitton and Bulgari and has been cast as Suzanne de Passe in the 2026 Michael Jackson biopic, Michael.
