After studying theater at Dongguk University, he built a strong career on stage before achieving widespread recognition on screen in 2017 with two pivotal roles: first as the morally ambiguous prosecutor Yoon Se-won in the drama Stranger, and then as the beloved second-generation tycoon Yoo Han-yang (nicknamed "Looney") in the hit series Prison Playbook, a role for which he is particularly well-known. His ability to portray a wide range of characters has been further demonstrated in projects such as the father grieving his wife's death in Hi Bye, Mama!
