Lena Hall

Lena Hall, born Celina Consuela Gabriella Carvajal on January 30, 1980, in San Francisco, California, is an American actress, singer, and songwriter renowned for her dynamic performances across theater, television, and music. She is the daughter of Carlos Carvajal, a choreographer, and Carolyn Carvajal, a prima ballerina, both of whom influenced her early immersion in the arts. Hall graduated from the Ruth Asawa San Francisco School of the Arts in 1997 and began her professional career on Broadway in 1999. Hall's breakthrough came in 2013 when she originated the role of Nicola in the Tony Award-winning musical Kinky Boots. Her portrayal earned her a Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical. In 2014, she achieved further acclaim for her performance as Yitzhak in the Broadway revival of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, winning the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical. Notably, she became the first person to play both Hedwig and Yitzhak in the same production during the show's national tour in 2016. Beyond her theatrical achievements, Hall has made significant contributions to music. She was the lead singer of the rock band The Deafening, releasing their debut album, Central Booking, in 2012. As a solo artist, she has released albums such as Sin & Salvation: Live At the Carlyle (2015) and Obsessed: Hedwig and the Angry Inch (2018). In addition to her stage and music career, Hall has appeared in various television and film projects. She starred as Miss Audrey in TNT's post-apocalyptic thriller series Snowpiercer (2020–2023) and has made appearances in Girls (2012), Good Girls Revolt (2015), and the film Becks (2017), for which she received widespread critical acclaim. Her versatility and commitment to her craft continue to captivate audiences across multiple entertainment mediums.
