Leo Bill

Leo Bill (born August 31, 1980) is an acclaimed English actor known for his versatile work across film, television, and theatre. Born in Warwickshire to actors Sheila Kelley and Stephen Bill, he trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), graduating in 2001. He rose to prominence with his award-winning lead performance as James Brocklebank in the 2006 psychological horror The Living and the Dead and is widely recognized for his roles in major films such as "28 Days Later", "Alice in Wonderland" (as Hamish), "Becoming Jane", and "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo". On television, he is well-known for portraying Benjamin Wilton in the gritty drama "Taboo" and for his role as Henry Grey in "Becoming Elizabeth". A frequent collaborator with Benedict Cumberbatch, Bill notably played Horatio to Cumberbatch’s title character in the 2015 National Theatre production of Hamlet. In "The Thing with Feathers" (2025), Bill reunites with Cumberbatch to play Dr. Bowden, a psychologist attempting to guide the grieving family through their loss. His character represents the clinical, often futile attempts of traditional therapy—suggesting "emotion journals" and yoga—which contrast sharply with the family's surreal and visceral experience of grief. In addition to this role, Bill's 2025 credits include a part in the third season of the Apple TV+ series "Foundation" and the drama film "Brides". Throughout his career, he has been a mainstay of the British stage, appearing in acclaimed productions like Posh at the Royal Court and The Tragedy of King Richard the Second at the Almeida Theatre.
