Leo Meier

Leo Meier (born in Berlin in 1995) is a rising German actor and playwright known for his dynamic presence across stage, screen, and writing. After growing up in Duisburg, he studied theatre science, German, and philosophy at Ruhr-University Bochum before earning his acting diploma at the Folkwang University of the Arts (2015–2019) .His graduation piece, Tote gehen nicht ins Kino, received the prestigious Folkwang Prize, and his first play for S. Fischer Verlag, zwei herren von real madrid, won both the public and SWR2 Hörspiel prizes at the Heidelberg Stückemarkt in 2022; a sequel award followed in Leipzig in 2023 . On screen, Meier has taken on supporting and guest roles in notable German TV series and films—such as Sörensen hat Angst, SOKO Leipzig, Notruf Hafenkante, Babylon Berlin, and the feature Axiom—and appears in the upcoming feature Köln 75 as Fritz Brandes. A multilingual performer (German, fluent English, basic Spanish) with dialect skills and musical talents (bass guitar, guitar, flute), Meier is based in Berlin and also works as a stage presence lecturer at Ruhr-University Bochum .
