Letitia Michelle Wright is a highly talented Guyanese-born British actress who has rapidly risen to international prominence. Born on October 31, 1993, in Georgetown, Guyana, her family relocated to London, England, when she was seven years old. Inspired by Keke Palmer's performance in "Akeelah and the Bee," she pursued acting and trained at the Identity School of Acting.Wright's early career saw her making guest appearances in several notable British television series, including "Top Boy," "Coming Up," "Chasing Shadows," "Humans," "Doctor Who," and the critically acclaimed "Black Mirror," for which she received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for her role in the "Black Museum" episode. Her cinematic debut was in the 2012 drama "My Brother the Devil," and she gained further attention for her leading role in "Urban Hymn" (2015).However, it was her portrayal of Shuri, the brilliant and witty younger sister of King T'Challa and technological genius of Wakanda, in Marvel Studios' "Black Panther" (2018) that catapulted her to global stardom.
