Lexi Underwood

Lexi Underwood is a dynamic American actress, singer, filmmaker, and activist, born on August 28, 2003, in Cheverly, Maryland. Her career began at a young age with professional theatrical roles, including her debut in a production of A Christmas Carol in 2013, followed by a major role as Young Nala in the North American Touring Company of the Disney musical The Lion King from 2015 to 2016. Underwood made her television debut in 2014 and gained attention for various guest and recurring roles in shows like Code Black, Henry Danger, Will vs the Future, and Criminal Minds. Her breakthrough came in 2020 when she starred as Pearl Warren—the daughter of Kerry Washington's character—in the critically acclaimed Hulu limited series Little Fires Everywhere, a role for which she received high praise and an NAACP Image Award nomination. Following this success, she continued to take on major roles, including portraying a young Malia Obama in the Showtime series The First Lady (2022) and starring as Isabella LaRue in the second season of the Freeform anthology series Cruel Summer (2023). Beyond acting, Underwood is a "changemaker" who founded her own production company, Ultimate Dreamer Productions, at just 15, with a mission to create content that tells inclusive stories from diverse and underrepresented voices. She also starred in the Disney+ musical film Sneakerella (2022).
