Lidya Jewett

Lidya Jewett is an Ethiopian-American actress born on January 19, 2007, in Gambella, Ethiopia. Adopted by Kim and Dale Jewett at age four, she relocated to the United States and quickly adapted to her new environment. Jewett began her acting career at a young age, appearing in commercials and print ads in the Miami and Orlando areas starting at six years old. She later gained recognition for her roles in television series such as WITS Academy (2015) and See Dad Run (2015) . In 2018, Jewett portrayed Young Nakia in the Marvel film Black Panther. She also appeared in the Netflix horror film Nightbooks (2021) as Yasmin and played Nancy in the Ivy + Bean trilogy. In The Exorcist: Believer (2023), Jewett stars as Angela Fielding, one of two 13-year-old girls who become possessed after performing a ritual to contact spirits. The film, directed by David Gordon Green, is a sequel to the 1973 horror classic and features Ellen Burstyn reprising her role as Chris MacNeil .
