Lily Gladstone is a Blackfeet and Nez Perce actress acclaimed for her powerful performances that center Indigenous experiences. Born on August 2, 1986, in Kalispell, Montana, she was raised on the Blackfeet Reservation and identifies as Indigenous. Gladstone holds a BFA from the University of Montana and began her acting career in 2012 with Jimmy P: Psychotherapy of a Plains Indian. She gained recognition for her roles in Kelly Reichardt’s Certain Women (2016) and First Cow (2019), as well as in the series Reservation Dogs (2021–2023) . Her breakout role came in Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon (2023), where she portrayed Mollie Burkhart, an Osage woman targeted during the Osage murders in 1920s Oklahoma. Her performance earned her the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama, making her the first Native American to win in this category . She also became the first Indigenous person to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress . In addition to her acting career, Gladstone is an advocate for Indigenous representation in media.
