Little Simz, born Simbiatu "Simbi" Abisola Abiola Ajikawo on February 23, 1994, is a critically acclaimed British rapper, singer, and actress from Islington, London. Of Nigerian heritage, she began her career in the early 2010s, building a reputation with independent mixtapes and EPs before releasing her debut album, A Curious Tale of Trials + Persons, in 2015 on her own AGE 101 Music label. Her career breakthrough came with her third album, "Grey Area" (2019), which was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize and won Best Album at the Ivor Novello Awards and NME Awards.She achieved widespread global recognition and high critical acclaim for her fourth album, "Sometimes I Might Be Introvert" (2021), which earned her the prestigious Mercury Prize, a Brit Award for Best New Artist, and multiple MOBO Awards. Known for her sophisticated, introspective lyricism and blending of hip-hop with influences from jazz, neo-soul, and reggae, her other celebrated albums include "No Thank You" (2022) and the more recent "Lotus" (2025). Outside of music, Simz is also an actress, notably playing the role of Shelley in the Netflix revival of the popular British drama series "Top Boy."
