Born on September 19, 1989, in Santiago, Chile, Lorenza Izzo is a globally recognized actress and model who has successfully bridged the gap between Latin American cinema and Hollywood. The daughter of famous Chilean model Rosita Parsons, Izzo spent her early adolescence in Atlanta, Georgia, before returning to Chile to study journalism. Her passion for performance eventually led her to New York City’s Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. She initially made a name for herself in Chile through collaborations with director Nicolás López, but her true international breakthrough came when she was cast as the lead, Justine, in Eli Roth's controversial cannibal horror film The Green Inferno (2013). Her performance was noted for its raw intensity, particularly during a scene in the Amazon River where she nearly drowned in real life, with her genuine screams for help being kept in the final cut. Following the success of The Green Inferno, Izzo became a staple of the "Chilewood" genre wave, starring alongside Keanu Reeves and Ana de Armas in the psychological thriller Knock Knock (2015) and appearing in the disaster film Aftershock (2012). Her career continued to ascend as she took on more diverse roles, including a recurring part in the Netflix series Hemlock Grove and a main role in AMC’s Feed the Beast. A major milestone occurred in 2019 when she was cast by Quentin Tarantino in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood as Francesca Capucci, the Italian actress wife of Rick Dalton (played by Leonardo DiCaprio). This role showcased her ability to move beyond the horror genre and hold her own among Hollywood A-listers. In recent years, Izzo has expanded into production and more dramatic storytelling, starring in and producing the 2021 film Women Is Losers and appearing in the HBO Max hit series Hacks. On a personal level, Izzo was married to director Eli Roth from 2014 to 2019 and later married writer-director Sophie Tabet in 2023. She has also been vocal about her identity as pansexual, using her platform to advocate for broader representation in the industry. As of 2026, she remains a highly sought-after talent, with projects including the action-comedy Stone Cold Fox and a lead role in the series El Gato.
