Lowell Lo Koon-Ting
Lowell Lo Koon-Ting (Chinese: 盧冠廷), born October 12, 1950, in Hong Kong, is a highly respected singer-songwriter, actor, and film composer. He is the son of renowned Cantonese opera artist Lo Hoi-tin. Lowell Lo moved to Seattle, USA, as a teenager where he studied music and later won the grand prize at the American Song Festival in 1977. Returning to Hong Kong, he launched a successful music career, releasing his first album in 1983 known for its unique style. In addition to music, Lowell Lo has contributed extensively to Hong Kong cinema by composing scores for numerous films such as "The Killer" (1989) and "Shaolin Soccer" (2001). He is famously credited with composing the theme music for the Hong Kong Film Awards. Lo's acting career includes roles in films like "Find Your Voice" (2019) and "Sons of the Neon Night" (2025). Beyond entertainment, he is also an environmental activist and has maintained an influential presence in the arts and culture scene of Hong Kong for several decades. His multifaceted contributions have made him an iconic figure in the Hong Kong entertainment industry.
