M.C. Gainey

M.C. Gainey (born January 18, 1948, in Jackson, Mississippi) is an American actor known for his distinctive deep voice and commanding presence. Standing at 6 feet 3 inches, he has portrayed a wide range of characters in both film and television. Gainey began his acting career in the mid-1970s, making his film debut in Hard Times (1975). He gained recognition for his roles in films such as Con Air (1997), where he played the character Swamp Thing, and Wild Hogs (2007) as Murdock. His other notable film appearances include Club Dread (2004), The Dukes of Hazzard (2005), and Django Unchained (2012) . On television, Gainey is perhaps best known for his role as Tom Friendly on the hit series Lost. He has also appeared in numerous other TV shows, including The Dukes of Hazzard, Knight Rider, Cheers, The X-Files, Desperate Housewives, and The Mentalist . In addition to his acting career, Gainey is a fan of jazz music and regularly attends the New Orleans Jazz Festival. He has been married to his wife, Kim, since May 2, 2002 .
