Manohari Joy is a veteran Indian actress and theatre artist known primarily for her work in Malayalam films and television, having successfully transitioned from a long career in professional drama to screen acting later in life. Born in Thumboli, Alappuzha, Kerala, she was initially a trained classical dancer and worked as a dance teacher before dedicating four decades to performing in over 36 professional Malayalam dramas. She gained wide public recognition for her television work, especially as Sarada in the popular TV sitcom Uppum Mulakum. She made her feature film debut relatively recently in 2019 with Kettyolaanu Ente Malakha, where her performance as Eliyamma was appreciated. Following this breakthrough, she became a prolific character actress, often portraying endearing or intense motherly figures. Her notable filmography includes acclaimed roles in major releases like Bheeshma Parvam (2022), Malikappuram (2022), Nayattu (2021), Puzhu (2022), and the suspense thriller Sookshmadarshini (2024). She also appeared in the 2025 horror film Diés Iraé as Madhu's mother.
