Manushi Chhillar is an Indian actress, model, and the winner of the Miss World 2017 pageant. Born on May 14, 1997, in Rohtak, Haryana, she comes from a family of doctors. Her father is a physician who worked at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), and her mother is a medical doctor. Chhillar herself was a medical student, pursuing an MBBS degree at Bhagat Phool Singh Medical College in Sonipat, before her life took an unexpected turn with her entry into pageantry.In 2017, she won the Femina Miss India World title, which earned her the right to represent India at the Miss World 2017 pageant. At the Miss World competition held in Sanya, China, she was crowned the winner, becoming the sixth Indian to achieve the title after a 17-year gap since Priyanka Chopra's win in 2000. Her "Beauty with a Purpose" project, called Project Shakti, focused on spreading awareness about menstrual hygiene.After her reign as Miss World, Chhillar transitioned into acting. She made her Bollywood debut with the historical drama Samrat Prithviraj (2022), where she played the role of Sanyogita. She has since appeared in films like The Great Indian Family (2023) and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (2024), and has several other projects in the pipeline, including Tehran and Maalik.
