Margherita Schoch, born on April 26, 1940, in Rome, is a Swiss actress with a career spanning several decades in theater, film, and television. After training at the Schauspielschule Bühnenstudio in Zurich from 1959-1962, she engaged in numerous productions across Switzerland, Germany, and Austria. In the early 1980s, she took a hiatus from acting, relocating to the Muggio Valley in Ticino, where she actively participated in a project for the sustainable agricultural and socio-cultural development of the region. During this period, she also trained as a psychiatric nurse, completing her education in 1987 and working in the field, including with the Hospice group, accompanying terminally ill patients.Schoch returned to acting in 2004 and has since appeared in a variety of films and TV series. Her filmography includes roles in "Ein Tag im April" (1965), "Achterbahn" (1979/80), "Profondo Amore" (2011), "Die schwarzen Brüder" (The Black Brothers, 2013), "Das Mädchen und die Spinne" (The Girl and the Spider, 2021), and "A Forgotten Man" (2022). She has also appeared in TV series like "SOKO München." More recently, she features in Petra Biondina Volpe's 2025 film "Late Shift" (Heldin), playing the role of Frau Kuhn. Schoch is known for her versatile performances and her ability to portray nuanced characters. She is fluent in German and Italian and has a strong background in various acting techniques and physical theater.
