Mark Valley is an American actor born Mark Thomas Valley on December 24, 1964, in Ogdensburg, New York. Before embarking on his acting career, Valley served in the United States Army, graduating from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1987 with a degree in mathematics. He served as a first lieutenant in the 18th Engineer Brigade and saw action in Operation Desert Storm. While serving in Germany, he landed his first acting role in "The Innocent" (1993).Valley is widely recognized for his prominent roles in various television dramas. He became well-known for playing Jack Deveraux on the NBC daytime soap opera "Days of Our Lives" from 1994 to 1997. He later gained significant recognition for his portrayal of Brad Chase in the legal drama "Boston Legal" (2004-2007), Oliver Richard in "Harry's Law" (2011-2012), FBI Special Agent John Scott in the sci-fi series "Fringe" (2008-2009), Christopher Chance in the action-drama "Human Target" (2010-2011), and Tommy Sullivan in ABC's "Body of Proof."Beyond his television work, Valley has appeared in films such as "The Siege" (1998), "The Next Best Thing" (2000), "Zero Dark Thirty" (2012), and "Stolen" (2012).
