Martin Henderson is a New Zealand actor born on October 8, 1974, in Auckland. He began his acting career at a young age, appearing in local television productions when he was just 13. He gained significant recognition in his home country for his role as Stuart Neilson in the popular New Zealand soap opera "Shortland Street" from 1992 to 1995.Henderson later moved to the United States to pursue a career in Hollywood. He studied at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York City. His breakout role for American audiences came in 2002 as Noah Clay in the highly successful horror film "The Ring." Following this, he took on diverse roles in films like "Bride & Prejudice" (2004), "Torque" (2004), "Little Fish" (2005), "Smokin' Aces" (2006), "Battle in Seattle" (2007), "Everest" (2015), and "The Strangers: Prey at Night" (2018).On television, Henderson is well-known for his roles as Dr. Ben Keeton in "Off the Map" (2011) and, more notably, as Dr. Nathan Riggs in the long-running medical drama "Grey's Anatomy" from 2015 to 2017. Since 2019, he has starred as Jack Sheridan in the popular Netflix series "Virgin River." In 2022, he also appeared as Wayne in Ti West's horror film "X."
