Mary Bronstein (née Wall, born 1979 in White Plains, New York) is an American actress and filmmaker. She is best known for writing, directing, and starring in the 2008 mumblecore film Yeast, which premiered at the South by Southwest Film Festival. Bronstein attended the New York University Tisch School of the Arts. She also appeared in the 2007 film Frownland, directed by her husband, Ronald Bronstein. After a hiatus, she returned to filmmaking with her second feature as a writer and director, If I Had Legs I'd Kick You, which premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival and was distributed by A24. Her work often features a precise visual style and dark humor, exploring complex female relationships and psychological states of crisis.
