Mary Louise Wilson
Mary Louise Wilson is an American actress, singer, and comedian born on November 12, 1931, in New Haven, Connecticut. The daughter of a doctor who specialized in treating tuberculosis, she spent much of her childhood in New Orleans before attending Northwestern University and relocating to New York, where she made her stage debut in 1959. Wilson has had a long and celebrated career on Broadway and Off-Broadway, which includes a Tony Award win in 2007 for her performance as Edith Bouvier Beale in the musical Grey Gardens, and a Tony nomination for her role as Fraulein Schneider in the 1998 revival of Cabaret. She also earned critical acclaim, including Drama Desk and Obie Awards, for Full Gallop, a one-woman show she co-authored and starred in, portraying fashion editor Diana Vreeland. On screen, Wilson is known for a recurring role on the family sitcom One Day at a Time as Ginny Wroblicki, and has appeared in films such as Klute, Zelig, The Money Pit, Pet Sematary, Stepmom, and Nebraska, along with television appearances on shows like The Sopranos and Louie. She is also an author, having written the memoir My First Hundred Years in Show Business.
