Matt Billingslea is a highly respected, Nashville-based professional drummer, producer, songwriter, and educator, who has been the powerhouse behind Taylor Swift's live sound since 2013. Originally from Westminster, Maryland, Billingslea attended Capital University, earning a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies and Music Industry. Before joining Swift's band, he built a solid career in Nashville, notably spending three years touring with multi-Grammy-winning group Lady Antebellum (now Lady A), during which time he co-wrote the top-20 single "Wanted You More." Billingslea began his tenure with Taylor Swift on The Red Tour in 2013 and has since been the dedicated drummer for all subsequent record-breaking world tours, including The 1989 World Tour, the Reputation Stadium Tour, and the historic The Eras Tour (2023-2024). His work with Swift has also included high-profile performances at major award shows like the Grammys and the BRIT Awards. Known for his powerful, versatile, and controlled playing style, he utilizes a complex hybrid drum kit to handle the vast dynamic and stylistic demands of Swift's genre-spanning catalog. Outside of touring, he has performed or recorded with artists like Gary Allan, Thompson Square, and David Nail, and has served as an adjunct faculty member at Lipscomb University, in addition to actively releasing his own original music under the name 'One For August.'
