Matt Corboy is an American actor born on June 4, 1973, in Honolulu, Hawaii. He grew up in Hawaii before attending Colorado State University, where he earned a degree in business. Corboy began his acting career in 1996, appearing in numerous commercials, films, and television series, often in guest roles. He is perhaps best known for his recurring role as Officer Ray Carlson in 15 to 17 episodes of "The Shield." In film, he played Cousin Ralph in the critically acclaimed 2011 movie "The Descendants," starring alongside George Clooney. Beyond acting, Corboy has an affinity for poker, stemming from his youth, which led him to become the lead commentator for the Professional Poker Tour in 2006. He has also been involved in medical charity mission work in South Africa and the South Pacific Islands, continuing a family legacy of volunteer medical services through his work as a Director with The Eye Mission of the Pacific. Corboy has been married to Kara McNamara Corboy since August 4, 2001.
