Maya Hasan is a prominent Indonesian artist, widely recognized as both a talented harpist and an accomplished actress. Born as Haris Maya Christina Hasan on January 10, 1972, she has carved a unique niche for herself in the Indonesian entertainment landscape.Maya began her musical journey by studying harp performance at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, USA. Unlike traditional classical harpists, she developed a distinctive style, blending her classical training with influences from popular, jazz, disco, and rock music, establishing herself as a "cross-over artist." Upon returning to Indonesia in 1993, she dedicated herself to introducing harp music to the public. She has performed with almost all major orchestras in Indonesia, including the Jakarta Symphony Orchestra and Twilite Orchestra, and was the first to perform the Mozart Harp and Flute concerto in the country. Her collaborations span both national and international artists, from Vina Panduwinata and Rossa to Andrea Bocelli and George Benson.Beyond her musical prowess, Maya Hasan has also built a significant acting career. She made her film debut in "Koper" (The Lost Suitcase) in 2006. Since then, she has appeared in numerous films and web series, showcasing her versatility. Some of her notable acting credits include "Dear Nathan: Thank You Salma" (2022), "Cek Toko Sebelah 2" (2022), "Dear David" (2023), and the upcoming psychological drama "A Normal Woman" (2025), where she plays the character Novi. Her roles often portray complex characters, adding depth to the narratives she is a part of.
