Melvin Dimas Rodríguez (born June 12, 1973) is an American actor and comedian of Cuban-American heritage, best known for his versatile character work across comedy and drama television series. Born in Miami, Florida, he initially pursued a career in boxing before a high school teacher guided him toward acting. He attended the prestigious theatre arts and film conservatory at SUNY Purchase and began his on-screen career in New York with an episode of Law & Order in 1999. Rodriguez gained early recognition with a recurring role as Frank on the sitcom George Lopez (2002-2007) and has appeared in films like Panic Room (2002) and the critically acclaimed Little Miss Sunshine (2006) and The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada (2005). He is widely celebrated for his main and recurring roles in several prominent TV shows: Nurse Patsy de la Serda on the dark comedy Getting On (2013-2015), Todd Rodriguez on the post-apocalyptic comedy The Last Man on Earth (2015-2018), Marco Pasternak on the crime drama Better Call Saul (2015, 2017), and Ernie Gomes on the dark comedy On Becoming a God in Central Florida (2019). More recently, he was a main cast member as Medical Examiner Hugo Ramirez on CSI: Vegas (2021-2022) and is set to appear in the upcoming film Sarah's Oil (2025).
