Mercedes Bryce Morgan is an American filmmaker and music video director of queer, mixed Latinx background, recognized as a rising star in the independent film scene. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Film and Television Production from the USC School of Cinematic Arts. Her career began in the digital space, directing music videos for high-profile artists like Marshmello, for which her video "Happier" was a 2019 VMA nominee and garnered over a billion views collectively for her work. She also directed the digital series Stargate Origins for MGM and Todrick Hall's visual album All American | Forbidden.Transitioning to feature films, Morgan made her directorial debut with the surrealist horror-thriller Fixation (2022), which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) to critical praise. Her second feature, the horror-thriller Spoonful of Sugar (2022), premiered at Fantastic Fest and was released as a Shudder Original. Following this, she directed her third feature, the erotic horror-thriller Bone Lake (2024). Her narrative work often incorporates elements of genre, action, and VFX, while maintaining a dramatic and sometimes darkly comedic tone. In addition to directing, Morgan has also been recognized for her screenwriting, making the Tracking Board/Launch Pad's 2017 Hit List and being a Nicholl Fellowship finalist.
