Michael Bisping, born on February 28, 1979, in Nicosia, Cyprus, is a retired English mixed martial artist best known for being the first British fighter to win a UFC championship. Nicknamed “The Count,” Bisping had a decorated career in the UFC, where he competed primarily in the middleweight division and built a professional record of 30 wins and 9 losses. He rose to prominence after winning The Ultimate Fighter 3 in 2006 and achieved his greatest milestone in 2016 by defeating Luke Rockhold to become UFC Middleweight Champion. Known for his gritty determination, striking skills, and trash talk, Bisping’s career was marked by memorable battles with fighters like Anderson Silva, Dan Henderson, and Georges St-Pierre. Despite a career-threatening eye injury, he continued to fight and retired in 2017, later being inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2019. After retiring, he transitioned into a successful career as a UFC commentator, actor, and podcast host.
