Michael Dorman is a New Zealand actor, resident in Australia, known for his starring roles across film and television internationally. Born on April 26, 1981, in Auckland, New Zealand, he moved to Australia at age ten and later studied drama at the Queensland University of Technology. His early career included the popular Australian TV series The Secret Life of Us and the film Suburban Mayhem (2006). Dorman gained widespread international recognition for his lead role as the complex, guitar-playing intelligence officer John Tavner in the acclaimed Amazon series Patriot (2015–2018). He is also well-known for playing NASA astronaut Gordo Stevens in the first two seasons of the Apple TV+ series For All Mankind (2019–2021) and the title character in the Paramount+ Western series Joe Pickett (2021–2023). Other notable roles include Tom Griffin in the film The Invisible Man (2020) and Tom Wilcox in the Australian series Wonderland. Dorman is also a musician and was cast as Gol D. Roger in the Netflix series One Piece (2023).
