Michael Fox
Michael Colin Fox (born 5 January 1989 in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire) is an accomplished English actor and musician. A graduate of the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, he launched his acting career in 2000 and gained recognition through early roles like the CITV comedy Little Big Mouth (2001). Fox is best known for his powerful portrayal of Andrew “Andy” Parker in Downton Abbey, joining during seasons 5 and 6 (2014–2015), and reprising the role in the 2019 and 2022 film sequels, with his character set to return in The Grand Finale (2025) . His film credits also include parts in Good People (2013) and Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk (2017). Off-screen, Fox is a musician, performing in a band called Luna and later forming a folk duo, Michael & Michelle, with co-star Michelle Dockery. In 2022 they signed with Decca Records and released the EP The Watching Silence, followed by singles like “Calming Storm” and “Starlight”. In his personal life, he has been in a relationship with Downton Abbey co-star Laura Carmichael since 2014. The couple keeps a relatively private life in London and welcomed their first child, a son, in 2021.
