Michael Mando
Michael Mando is a Canadian actor, writer, and director, born on July 13, 1981, in Quebec City. Raised by his father, he had a highly transient childhood, living in over 35 homes across 10 cities and four continents, which contributed to his fluency in French (his native language), English, Spanish, and Arabic. Initially studying international relations, he changed paths after a knee injury and enrolled in the Dome Theatre Program at Dawson College, graduating in 2007. Mando is globally famous for his compelling portrayal of the complex criminal Nacho Varga throughout all six seasons of the critically acclaimed AMC series Better Call Saul (2015–2022). He is also widely recognized in the gaming world for his full motion-capture performance and voice work as the charismatic and unhinged villain Vaas Montenegro in the 2012 video game Far Cry 3, a role often cited as one of the best video game antagonist performances of all time. Other notable roles include Vic Schmidt in the TV series Orphan Black (2013–2014) and Mac Gargan (who hints at becoming the villain Scorpion) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017). His recent work includes playing the Mexican cartel's local shot-caller, Ramón Garza, in the 2024 film King Ivory.
